“It doesn't work on me”: The day my intern thought she was blocked

How Aby ended up hearing her characters (and why your mind plays tricks on you).
I am delighted to welcome you back for another behind-the-scenes look at intuitive writing. In January, I hosted Aby for a week-long internship.
Aby is a young author working on a novel with two heroines, Ella and Sarah. But one day, she found herself facing a wall:
“I don't know what should happen after this chapter. I can't come up with any ideas.”
I suggested an intuitive writing session. She was curious, but convinced that my method was some kind of magic reserved for others.

🛑 The trap of expectations (your mind in action)
To begin the visualization, Aby gives me very little information:
“Sarah sent Ella a message and... that's it. I'm in the dark.”
As soon as I start to guide her, her mind goes into red alert. Aby finds herself overwhelmed with questions and finally blurts out: “I can't see anything, it's not working.”
Why this blockage?
Because her mind had a specific requirement: it wanted to see a clear image, like in the movies. But intuition is much more subtle.
When Aby tells me, “I can't see Ella, but I can visualize her, she's a little blurry,” I understand that the channel is open, but that her expectations are blocking reception.
🔀 Change frequency to “hear” better
I ask Aby to continue visualizing this blurry figure and to go talk to her. Another mental sabotage: he expects to “hear” Ella as one would hear a person in real life.
“I visualize Ella, she's waving her arms, she wants to tell me something, but I can't hear any sound,” she explains to me.
That's where the key lies: there is no “right” way to receive information. Everyone has their own frequency. I simply advised her to let the information come to her, without trying to make it conform to what her mind imagined.
✨ The trigger: when the channel finally opens
After a few seconds, Aby's face changed completely:
“This is very strange. I can hear a string of words. They're not coming from me. Even though the sentences aren't complete, I understand perfectly what she's saying to me.
”Is that Ella? What is she saying to you?
"Yes! She's shouting at me that Sarah is in danger and that we absolutely must help her!
That's why Ella was so agitated!
After this session, Aby began to write with complete fluency. She couldn't stop:
“It's so much easier. I don't even have to think anymore, it just comes naturally.”
🔑 The lesson for your writing
Your mind will always have something to say. It will tell you that you're doing it “wrong,” that you're “not talented enough,” or that “it doesn't work for you.”
But as with Aby, as soon as you accept to let go of the how, three things happen:
You let go of the pressure to achieve results: You are no longer the architect who forces, but the witness who transcribes.
Your imagination becomes limitless: Your characters' solutions are often much richer than those of your mind.
Creating becomes easy: You move from effort to fluidity.
✍️ How about we unlock your story together?
If you recognize yourself in Aby's story, if your characters seem “silent” to you, or if your mind is too noisy, I am here to help you. My role as an intuitive writing coach is to help you find your own channel, the one that truly suits you.
In individual coaching, we don't just perform “magic”: we reconnect your pen to your natural fluidity.
