Ten years ago, in 2015, I published the first volume of my trilogy: World War Web - WWW. 🚀

If you've been following me for a while, you know that this dystopian novel holds a special place in my heart. It even won an award in 2017, which is something I'm incredibly proud of! Today, we're celebrating its anniversary (10 years already!) and it's the perfect opportunity to introduce it to you—or to make you want to read it again.

Why I wrote World War Web - WWW

When the idea for World War Web – WWW popped into my head, I was standing on a Paris subway platform, staring at a huge advertisement for a smartwatch. A voice whispered these words to me: "What if they were used to control people?" That was the trigger! This frightening visionof our future. You know that feeling that we're all a little too addicted to new technologies?

My novel explores the consequences of this dependency.

I'm taking you to Paris, in 2035. The city is divided in two: on one side, the new Paris, a model (but oppressive) society, surrounded by high concrete walls; on the other, the suburbs where the rebelssurvive.

You will follow Rebecca Barns, a young insurgent who is not afraid of anything. Hunted by the militia of the new government, Rebecca will lead her companions in an intense war against a revolutionary technology that controls everything.

It's an addictive dystopia that, I hope, will make you think twice before accepting all cookies ! 😉

What my readers say about it (and why it's perfect for you)

I often tell you, I love it when you give me your feedback! I've always had a very cinematic style. The kind that plunges you right into the action, that carries you along until you're breathless and you feel the urgency of the characters.

Here is what the blog Benny Books said at the time :

"Johanna has a very cinematic style that plunges us straight into the action. We laugh, we tremble, we sometimes hold our breath, but it's such a treat that we want more. [...] A breath of fresh air."

With its 475 pages of intense content, World War Web - WWW (Format 14.8x21cm) is perfect if you are a teenager or a (e) adult fan of science fiction and dystopian thrillers.

10 years later: the dystopia that is catching up with us

Today, in 2025, when I reread the lines of my novel written in 2015, I think to myself that my fiction is disturbingly realistic. Here we are! Perhaps that's why it's still so popular and remains one of the pillars of my collection.

If you're looking for a book that combines suspense, action, and real depth of thought, this captivating dystopiais waiting for you.

So, are you ready to dive into World War Web - WWW and join Rebecca Barns in her fight against overly invasive technology?

Let me know in the comments if you've already read it, or if you're thinking of giving it a go.

See you soon!
